Jan discovered his passion in the late 90s for the Filipino Martial Art Pekiti Tirsia Kali under Tuhon Uli Weidle, Germany, and became a strong believer in Pekiti Tirsia’s philosophy: “We Believe in Life, Not in Death. We Believe in Health, Not in Sickness. We Believe in Success, Not in Failure.”
After having lived and worked in Southeast Asia since 2006, Jan started Pekiti Tirsia Kali Singapore early in 2012 under the tutelage of Tuhon Rommel Tortal. Thanks to Sir Rommel’s guidance and the visiting guest teachers above, Pekiti Tirsia Kali Singa soon started to thrive. In 2014, PTK Singapore joined the Pekiti Tirsia Kali Tactical Association to emphasize its focus on tactical application and teaching in Singapore.
